I joined the tour to Chernobyl on 22 July without really imaging how the trip would look like. However, it is a once in life experience which is not possible to undergo anywhere else in the world. The registration was simple, the tour was well organised and above all the guide Dimitriy is like a living encyclopaedia about Chernobyl. We visited many different places (abandoned village, towns Chernobyl and Pripyat, reactor No-4, river channel with abandoned ships, etc) and my personal highlight was the two hours walk in Pripyat which in 26 years turned from a town with 55.000 inhabitants into actually a forest with blocks of flats and non-residential buildings. It was surprisingly interesting to constantly check figures on a dosimeter and watch especially how quickly they increased and declined. Last but not least, a meal in the canteen near the power plant was very tasty. Many thanks for the trip and lots of success in the future!
