Post subject:  Current situation in Ukraine

Considering the fact that many of our friends and tourists from different countries are asking a lot of questions about the situation in Ukraine.

Contrary to information of foreign media who present information through the prism of the political situation in their country, the real situation is next: during the night, November 30, Special Force of police got a command to disperse a peaceful demonstration of supporters of Ukraine's integration into the European Union. Not just dispersed, but intentionally maimed, breaking bones and smashing heads. The purpose is to show the power of the government and to intimidate. They beat all categories - men and women, and the elderly. Journalists (people who just shot an event) were beaten the most. Over the weekend affected more than 30 journalists, including "Reuters", "Interfax" and other publications.

Police for this massacre were from the Crimea – being afraid that Kiev police will not go to the streets against their children and families. By the way, Lviv police is on the people’s side.

The next day, December 1, a wave of civil disturbances took to the streets thousands of people - not only because of association with the EU, as against coercive methods and against the government - demanding the resignation of the current government. Protesters seized two buildings - the Kyiv City Council (which, by the way, according to the Constitution shall be open to any citizen) and the Trade Union House. There are the headquarters of the protesters.

Those frames with firebombs, “fireworks" and tractor that went around the world had indeed taken place. But it was a short campaign, which, judging by the set reviews "from the front" were organized specifically by a group of provocateurs to provoke peaceful people and give people a reason to impose emergency state in Ukraine. But people resist provocateurs quickly!
The movement continues today. It is peaceful. While security forces group around.

President is out of the country with a working visit to China, his site was not rarely updated last days. He gave a few comments to "the journalists", noted that he did not like that people who took the Kyiv City Council and House of Trade Unions. Noticed that we need to move to Russia, to sign a strategic partnership. Not a word about that night, maimed people…

Frankly, I have always been apolitical, essentially I do not watch a TV set... Hearing the word "politics", I immediately changed the subject and ended the conversation. But now I constantly follow the situation with "hromadske.tv" (civil television), where young boys and girls, constantly leading direct inclusion of the venues for actions against Ukrainian government through their tablets, mobile phones, and Skype.

I knew Ukrainian people from a new side. In this situation appeared new qualities of people. The crowd is a terrible thing. Provoke a fight or panic in preheated crowd is not difficult. The fact that until now, despite the various challenges and lack of coordination on the part of the masses of people of any political force, protest against the government remains peaceful, people create detachments of volunteers, help, stick together - talking about the new. Awareness and literacy appears.

People from different cities and countries supported the movement - these days I watched the inclusion of America, Poland, Israel and many other countries. At the moment the situation is relatively calm in Kiev - people continue to settle in the main streets of the capital, "conquered" buildings, work out their next steps. People continue to demand the retirement of the current government and the country's accession to the EU. Protesters’ mood is working. We can move in the city freely.

If the government will not repeat force to stop people’s peaceful movement, I am sure the situation will be resolved peacefully within the international legal field.
