Hello everyone..
Here are my impressions of a two day trip to the Zone that I made with Chernobyl - Tour this September..
It was really an amazing trip.. One of a lifetime experiences and all my main expectations were met.. I saw everything I hoped that I will see in the Zone.. We had an amazing guide, Nikolay, that showed as everyting we asked for, answered all our questions, very attentive guy, speaks good English..
The driver was a bit nervous though.. Rushing back home to Kiev on the day 2 of the trip..
Ukrainians drive like crazy
The only little complaint that I have is the food at the hotel Desyatka.. It was not that excellent and overwhelming as I had expected it to be from reading somewhere on this site.. Maybe the food in the canteen is better, but at the hotel it was nothing much, hardly any meat.. That is the only small complaint that I have.. Everything else was more then perfect and more then I expected..
I left the Zone with an addictive feeling, of a place I would love to visit again, and again.. that is calling me to return, come back, spend more time here..
Almost like a drug, you get hooked to its magical attraction.. From my trip, I learned that the Zone is much more than eerie atmosphere and post apocalytpic scenes.. It is fool of (wild)life, wild nature.. I saw a wild boar in the very center of Chernobyl town! and I approached it to a half of meter..
That was the most perfect moment for me in the Zone.. Because it wasn't afraid of me.. Man is no longer a threat to it, since Chernobyl accident..
All in all, it was a wonderful trip, I love your country, Ukraine is the best! I really hope that I will come visit once again..
Respect and peace to you all Slavic brothers..
