More and more confronted with the fact that newcomers often ask the same questions.
Therefore it was decided to create this theme, in which will be gathered all the general questions (for example, from what age you can go to the Zone, do you need a passport for entry, etc.) and general FAQ will contain all these issues.

Ask your questions! :friends:

Good evening dear people at chernobyl-tour and sorry for taking your time.I didn't know exactly where to post this so I'll post it here.
I wish to attend the chernobyl tour on the 16th of december, and before i make a reservation I would like to ask a few question if that is ok:

1. What is the success rate of the tours ( how many tours if any, have been canceled due to various reasons), since I just want to be at ease knowing that I will be going for sure after i sign up.
2. Is weather an issue ( especially in december) and do the tours still take place in case of snow or rain?
3. What is the maximum total in our group?
4. The sign-up form has a box where it says " Country" (for example Canada, Vancouver), i don't understand what this is for since there is a " Citizenship" box as well. Is it obligatory to fill in the " Country" box or is this about something different?

Sorry if some of the question were out of place, I just needed some info. Thanks a lot guys & see you soon. Take care. Oliver, Romania.

Good morning, Oliver!

1 - During all the time of our activity there was no tours that was cancelled for any reasons.

2 - Yes, we do our tours at any cases of weather. It's very difficult to forecast the weather for a such long period, but you can see what kind of weather was at the same date last year: http://www.gismeteo.ru/diary/4932/2011/12/ (+5 - +7, rainy)

3 - The largeness of groups fluctuates from 15 till 35 persons. It's not determined yet how many people will be in the tour at November, 16, but if even group will be large, we will divide it at the place, and all the parts will be with its own guides. So it will be no crowd in any case.

4 - "Country" item means your current living place from which you will arrive to Chernobyl Zone. In "Citizenship" item you have to indicate your citizenship according to your passport data.

Have a nice trip!

thanks a lot for your help.

So country is basically where I permanent residence is, as in, for instance I live in Alba Iulia, Romania right now? Also is it optional ( since I do not see the box surrounded by the orange highlight)

Thanks again for your help, see you soon! :)

No, "Country" item is necessary to fill in since the administration of Zone requests it. Simply indicate "Romania" and that's will be enough. :)

See you!

Sorry to bother again. I made a reservation, but after I wanted to pay it gave me an error " 501 Method Not Implemented " , i tried first with opera, then with firefox, still nothing. Any idea what this could be and how else can I pay for a trip?
Also, the application has a section called " I was consulted by" ( headoffice in kiev, repoffice in lviv, etc. ) , what does this refer to? Medical consulting? And if I weren't consulted, what do i need to do? Thanks a lot.

Chromium, check your e-mail, we've sent you the letter with information about alternative ways of payment.

And some words about the section 'I was consulted by' - it contains information about our region representatives, who helps us to search, consult and support our tourists.
In your case you should choose 'Other', but you don't have to resend the request.

My friend and I are planning to come in mid-September to visit Chernobyl. I want to buy a dosimeter Terra-P so I can use my own dosimeter on the trip. My question is: Is it possible to buy dosimeter when we come to Chernobyl, or I must buy it in advance over internet?
Same question is it about souvenirs.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the tour:

1) During the day/tour (for each day on the multi-day tour also) are there facilities available at regular intervals? (toilets)

2) Are there any restrictions on the shape/size/type of luggage taken (suitcase, backpack, bag, etc.), and would it be left in the vehicle during the day for the first/last days of the multi-day tour?

3) What is the specific pick-up location (which building is the vehicle going to be waiting outside) - I have looked on google maps and I can see a building in the area I believe to be the one, it has a sign saying, "K PEДOБAHK" with a carpark in front - is this the right place?

Many thanks

Hello, fireflies,
Thank you very much for your attention to Chornobyl-TOUR :)

Here are the answers to your questions:
1) Unfortunately, facilities (toilets) are available at irregular intervals during both one-day and multiple-day tours to the Exclusion Zone. The reason is that the Zone is a closed area run by the government. Initially it was not designated for tourism, so there are no facilities en route.

On a 1-day trip we make sanitary stops at approximately 8:30 (pit stop at a petrol station), 10:00 (checkpoint when entering the Zone), and then 17:00 (dinner in Chornobyl town café).
So, for the whole day we might use natural toilets (bushes) in safe non-radioactive areas if necessary. Here a dosimeter becomes handy.

2) There are no restrictions to your luggage size. It will be kept in the boot of your van during the tour. If staying overnight in Chornobyl on a multiple-day trip, you may take it in your room.

3) The meeting place for a group tour: Lukashevicha str, build. 6 (old names of the street are Petrozavodskaya, Kirpy), 300 meters right from the exit of the Yuzhniy (Pivdenniy, South) terminal of the Central Railway station, Kyiv, Ukraine. See the map.
GPS coordinates: 50.4410852,30.4831796

Hopefully this information is of use to you :)

Should there be any questions\suggestions\ concerns about your Chornobyl tour, pls do not hesitate to contact us.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Have a great day!
